Salto da Farinha

Salga

A few kilometres down the road from Parque dos Caldeirões, before entering the village of Salga, another waterfall invites the visitor. Aproximatelly 40 m high and more visible during the Winter, Salto da Farinha (flour) owes it’s denomination to the ancient milling activity, which flourished in this area many years ago.
Taking advantage of the ocean view one can get from this spot, the actual look-out spot was built here, together with a picnic area and toilets to serve the local population and those who visit us from the outside.
A few metres below there’s the Miradouro da Pedra dos Estorninhos with a large panoramic view over the sea and also a picnic area.
