Vigia das Baleias

Located in the centre of the village of Algarvia and also by the local road, it used to serve as a whalewatching spot during the years when whale hunting was common in the Azores and one of the island’s major economic activities. This whalewatching spot was built invocating the Virgin Mary and overviews the North coast. The place is furnished with a picnic area, barbecue fireplaces, toilets and a playground for children.
